GYPSY GRIND's Web Page
Gypsy Grind an Alternative Power Grind Pop band In Manila, Philippines Who is Gypsy Grind?!

Any one who is a vampire at night gets bored with staying at home and loves loud music can be found either in Club Dredd, Ora Cafe, Mayric's or Branigan's.(Those are the best places to watch unsigned bands in Manila.) Well, if you haven't been to those places...then get out of your dusty, smelly room and party!!!(this applies only to those who live in Manila) And if you, yes you...you reading this article..if you are somewhere out there in the world and happen to be on vacation...buy a plane ticket and come over to the Philippines to watch Gypsy Grind in the said places. (This applies to all you people from outside the Philippines.)[I cater to all, my dear.]...Coz if you haven't been to those places, the you haven't seen Gypsy Grind....and if you haven't watched them nor heard of them nor any of their songs...then you wouldn't even know what and who i'm writting about.(Don't worry..here's a tip...add this webpage to your bookmark...visit as often as you can...and I'll tour you around the Philippines...to places that you'll never find in any...and I say and tourist guide manual...and here's the catch..it's all about the band scene here in Manila...)

Well, if you don't know Gypsy Grind and if you got even just a tiny bit of curiosity in your bones...then you might as well read on.

Gypsy Grind is Tina Ehrhardon vocals,Don Enriquez on drums, Mike dela Cruzon rhythm guitar,Jon Santos on Lead guitar and Bobboy Panerio on Bass guitar. They classify their music to be Alternative Power Grind Pop.

They've been around for two and a half years. They were first heard locally (of course locally...they're not under an international label dummy!) in a local (meaning here in the Philippines) radio station La 105.9 with their songs taken from the Eve-olution Compilation...included in the Compilation are their two tagalog songs "Ermitanio" and "Kabanda". This they recoreded under Ivory Records. "Ermitanio" reached top 2 in the La 105 TOP 50 countdown. Gypsy Grind stayed on top 2 with their song "Ermitanio" for six weeks.

"Ermitanio" is a tagalog song that talks about all the nightmares and traumas that a person a war veteran experiences after living through a death experience...and that death experience is going to war, seeing it, living it, suffering it and surviving it. "ako'y nakipag laban noon sa mga hapon/para sa bayan handang ibuwis ang aking buhay/mga kaaway aking pinapatay/nakita ko,nalaman ko,nadama ko ang mawalan ng Diyos." (in english...for those who are illiterate in the Filipino language...and that goes for most Filipinos hehehe!) "I was fighting the war against the Japanese/I was ready to sacrifice my life for my country/I murdered the enemy/I saw, I found out, I felt how it was to loose God" (Hhhmmm...somehow it sounds better in the original language...well, everything is better the first time around...but that's another story.)

Personally I think it's one of the best songs ever written by vocalist Tina Ehrhard. Considering the fact that her mother Tongue is german and she is German at that! Yeah, she's half German and Half Filipina (the "a" at the end of Filipina depicts that her Mom is from the Philippines...[why do I keep cutting myself off?! ok...I'll go on.])And Tina was born in Sweden "pero pusong Pinoy talaga ako...dito na rin ako lumake" pinoy na pinoy o say ninyo?!
